Homework Completed!!

We finally completed our homework, I can't believe we made it through all this paperwork. We are so close to the end of the adoption process and feeling all kinds of emotions. This has definetly been a "roller coaster ride" for the two of us, but through it all God has been faithful and blessed us immensely. It has strengthened our marriage and our faith.
The next step will be for our Case Worker to review our paperwork and schedule our home study. Then once that is completed, the waiting period begins. We know God is in control and whether we have to wait 3 months, 6 months or 1 year, God's timing will be perfect.

Our Journey Continues...

We finished our classes last night, I can't explain the feeling I have inside, my heart is so full of love and its overflowing for this child we don't even know yet. Tim and I have been praying through this journey and after our class last night it was confirmed over and over again that we are going to work with birthparents, what a ministry we will be able to give to these young mothers and young fathers. We feel so Blessed to have an answer to our prayers.

Homework, Homework and More Homework!

Does this title tell you anything? We are currently working on our homework, who would of thought we would have so much to do in order to adopt. Tim and I both feel this is exactly where God wants us and we wouldn't have it any other way.
We are so grateful for our supportive friends and family, which makes this process easier to go through.

Halfway There!

I can't believe it, we are halfway through our Adoption process!
We just finished our Pride weekend, we learned so much and made new life-long friends. Our next step is to complete our homework, 2 classes left to attend and a home study to prepare for. Our hearts are so full of love and ready to bring our baby home. God never said this would be easy but as long as we depend on Him everyday he will get us through this. We are so excited to see what God has in store for us.

One Week!

I can't believe it, we have one week left until our Adoption Pride Weekend. As I sit here typing this with tears in my eyes, I never thought my life would of turned out this way. Exactly one year ago, my husband told me his heart had changed and wanted to pursue adoption, our whole lives have changed since then. It's so amazing to see how God has changed my husband through all of this, I wonder how I ever deserved this. My heart is so full of love and I can already imagine holding my baby in my arms.

We Made It!

Wow, God is so good! We made it through the interview on Tuesday, we are so Blessed to be at this place in our lives. Antioch Adoptions told us that we would make great parents and they would love to have us join their Ministry. I have felt at peace and have this wonderful warm feeling all over, I know we are right where God wants us.
Our next step will begin in October, where we will go through "Pride" training. It's a full weekend of training required by the State. It's just the beginning of what could be a very long process, but God is in control and he already has our child picked out for us, so whether it takes 6 months or 2 years, God's timing will be perfect.

Still Working on Paperwork...

I finally started on our adoption paperwork again. You think that with all my free time lately that I would of finished this a month ago. We are getting so close to the end of the pile, I can't believe it. The first time I looked at the paperwork, I was thinking there is no way I am going to do this, but now that we are so close, it's very exciting! God has been so good to us through this process and he has blessed us with such wonderful friends and a wonderful support group.

Step Three

We offically started filling out our adoption paperwork tonight. You must be thinking "why did it take so long"? Well...I felt like I hit a road block and my heart wasn't in it. If it wasn't for my wonderful husband, the paperwork would still be sitting on the desk in the computer room.
I look back to one year ago and would of never thought that we would be on our way to adoption this time in our lives. If any of you had known my husband back then, he always said that "we would have our own children or none at all". It all changed on October 10, 2008. Tim and I were on our way to work one morning and out of the blue I felt this urge to ask him if he still felt the same way about adoption, which was definitely out of the ordinary because we hadn't talked about adoption or having our own children in a while. So I got the courage up and asked him and believe it or not, he said "N0". It took everything inside of me not to cry in front of him. My heart was so full and as I thought to myself "who else could of changed his heart but God"?
Ever since then, we have just received confirmation over and over again that this is where we need to be. We are thrilled to take the next step.

Step Two

We finished our first adoption class last night, what an experience! I am VERY overwhelmed at the process it takes to bring a little one into our home, I am still trying to digest all the information we received. Our next step is paperwork, lots and lots of paperwork. After the paperwork portion has been completed we are then scheduled to meet with the Antioch Adoption Adminstrator and Pastor, they will then decide if we are elgible to move on with the adoption process.
I know we are in God's hands and He decides what is best for our lives. I believe that He has brought us to this journey for a reason and we are excited to see where he takes us.
